Progressive Shuttlers kicks off annual team c’ship

Progressive Shuttlers, Dimapur on Thursday commenced its annual “Team Championship Tournament” at Multi-Disciplinary Sports Complex Dimapur (MDSC).
A total of four teams are vying for the championship title, with the championship tournament featuring multiple categories, including Mens open, Mens 35+, Mens 40+, Mens 45+, Mens 50+, 45+ Mixed Doubles and 50+ Mixed Doubles.
Addressing the gathering, club president M Daniel Lotha stated that the tournament is an annual fixture in the club’s calendar and is organized exclusively for bona fide members.
He highlighted that the event is not only about competition but also about strengthening unity within the club.
He further emphasized that the championship aims to promote sportsmanship, discipline, and mutual respect among players while fostering sense of camaraderie and teamwork.
He noted that such events play crucial role in building vibrant sporting culture and encouraging members to stay actively engaged in the sport.
Organisers also informed that the team-based format of the tournament was designed to enhance coordination and collective performance. The championship is set to culminate on April 11.
