Poshan Pakhwada launched at Chizami

The launching programme of the 8th Poshan Pakhwada 2026 was held on April 9 at D.B Hall, SDO (C), Chizami, with participation from officials, field functionaries and community stakeholders committed to strengthening nutrition and public health initiatives.
The programme was chaired by senior supervisor Zekote Therie, who underscored the importance of sustained community engagement in achieving the objectives of Poshan Pakhwada.
Highlights included the Poshan Pledge and a presentation by block co-ordinator Thsekhro Thopi, who elaborated on key focus areas such as nutrition awareness, maternal and child health, and collective responsibility. A presentation on “Garnering Community Support for Stronger Anganwadis” was delivered by Sutalu Rume, AWW Zelome B, stressing the need for active community participation in strengthening Anganwadi services for better grassroots impact.
The session on “Review and Self Explanation on Swachhta Pakhwada” reinforced the link between sanitation practices and nutritional outcomes, highlighting the role of hygiene in overall well-being.
Delivering the keynote address, CDPO Nyurhosie Nyuthe emphasized integrated efforts among departments and communities to combat malnutrition and improve health indicators, calling for dedication and coordinated action to ensure the success of Poshan Abhiyaan.
The programme concluded with closing remarks and prayer by AWW Lhikrope-U Wetsah, who expressed gratitude to all participants and reaffirmed commitment to the cause.
