Advisor for Industries and Commerce, Hekani Jakhalu, on Friday inaugurated the “Extension of Centre of Excellence (CoE) Industry 4.0—Srujan” at Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre (NTTC), Dimapur. The programme also witnessed inauguration of “Modernization of classrooms” and “Set up of solar infrastructure” at the centre.
Addressing the gathering as special guest, Hekani lauded NTTC leadership for transforming the institute into a model centre of excellence, noting that visible progress was the result of sustained commitment and action. She underscored that “actions speak louder than words” and reiterated the State government’s priority of creating platforms and ecosystems for young people.
Acknowledging Bharat Forge’s partnership with the government, she expressed gratitude to the company for investing in the future of Nagaland’s youth, describing the initiative as a long-term investment that would benefit generations. Stressing the importance of technology, she said Industry 4.0 represents the current phase of global industrial transformation and urged youth to embrace it as “the way of life.”
Hekani also highlighted the role of SimuSoft Technologies in providing technical expertise and training support, cautioning that infrastructure without skilled trainers could remain underutilized.
Citing examples of young entrepreneurs, she encouraged students to dream big, work hard and avoid mediocrity, asserting that “99 per cent of success is accounted because of hard work.”
Expressing concern over low participation in skill programmes, she noted that only 54 candidates had applied for Germany placement-linked training at NTTC, calling for greater awareness and outreach.
Meanwhile, guest of honour and vice president (HR & CSR) of Bharat Forge, Dr. Leena Deshpande, emphasized the company’s commitment to inclusive skill development. She explained that Bharat Forge had long invested in education, employability and community development, and highlighted the CoE’s role in equipping youth with cutting-edge technologies such as AI and IoT.
