In a significant step towards strengthening student welfare and community support, the Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) and Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Bangalore (ENSUB) have signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with St. Claret College (Autonomous), Bengaluru, and Sakra World Hospital.
The MoU with St. Claret College establishes a structured partnership to enhance opportunities for Naga students, including fee concessions for those enrolling at the institution and access to campus infrastructure for union-led events. NSUB and ENSUB have also partnered with Sakra World Hospital to expand healthcare access for the Naga community within and beyond Karnataka. The collaboration offers discounted medical services and extends support to individuals not covered under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS), providing much-needed financial relief.
In a joint statement, the presidents of NSUB and ENSUB described the partnerships as a meaningful step toward building a stronger support system for the Naga community in Bengaluru and beyond. They emphasized that education is not only about access but also opportunity, while healthcare remains essential in a city like Bengaluru, ensuring support during medical emergencies. The unions expressed hope that the collaborations would empower the community, uphold dignity, strengthen security and foster a deeper sense of belonging.
