NIDC Ltd. chairman Tovihoto Ayemi graced the 67th Republic Day celebration at Longkhim as the chief guest on January 26.
After unfurling the national tricolour, he addressed the gathering and highlighted various important steps taken by the government for the welfare of its citizens.
He called upon the citizens of the state to look ahead at the prospects and challenges before them with courage, confidence and optimism.
Later, Tovihoto took salute from the parade contingents. During the programme, Sangvi Club and VG dancing troupe presented cultural items while Living Local Band presented the beating of retreat.
Noklak: In Noklak headquarters, the day was observed at public ground Noklak, where parliamentary secretary for Housing, Er. Levi Rengma unfurled the national flag and took salute from seven parade contingents.  Er. Levi read out the Republic Day speech highlighting on the developments and achievements of the government and government policies to be implemented.
After the function chief guest inspected the stalls put up by agriculture and RD departments. Bazar Union Noklak town and village guard also presented special entertainment and traditional dances. To mark the occasion, Red Cross Society Noklak Branch visited CHC Noklak and contributed food items to the patients.
Chiephobozou: Along with the rest of the country, Chiephobozou ADC Hq also celebrated 67th Republic Day 2016 at ADC Headquarter with Advisor, Treasuries & Accounts and Relief & Rehabilitation, Dr. T.M Lotha as chief guest. Dr. T.M Lotha was accompanied by the local MLA chairman NSMDC, Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu.
He the national flag and took salute. The programme was attended by all the head of offices, NAPO and its frontal organizations and invitees.
Aboi: Parliamentary secretary for Art & Culture, Eshak Konyak unfurled the national flag and took salute at Aboi. National anthem was sung by Government High School students Aboi and chief guest read out the Republic Day speech.
He inspected the parade contingents consisting of Police and VGs from Apao village.
Shamator: Parliamentary Secretary Municipal Affairs and Economics & Statistics, R. Tohanba unfurled the national flag at Shamator as chief guest, where the national anthem was sung by St. Xavier Shamator.
March past parade contingents included 3rd NAP Shamator, Sangphur VG, Melianger VG, Christian high School Shamator and St. Xavier Shamator.
Other highlights included special number by Royim, inspection of SHG and VDB stalls by the chief guest followed by cultural presentations by Thopun cultural troupe, Melianger VG, cultural troupe and Sangphur VG cultural troupe.
Col. N.S Chahal Commandant 15 Assam Rifle graced the evening function as chief guest.
Aghunato: Aghunato sub-division also celebrated Republic Day at local ground, Aghunato with parliamentary secretary for Labour and Employment, Skill Development, Border Affairs, Mmhonlumo Kikon as chief guest.
He unfurled the tri-colour where the national anthem was sung by Don Bosco, Aghunato.
Eco Club, Agape School: Eco Club members of Agape School Kiphire lead by team leader and teacher in charge of eco club Koda took part in 67th Republic day by selling jute bags and putting up banners to convey a message in fighting against the use of plastic bags with slogans as- “jute is fashion” “ say no to plastic” etc..
The project was part of eco club activities which is supported by the wild life division of Kiphire where student are taught to take care of the environment by saying no to plastics and use just bag to replace plastic.
Minister for Power, C. Kipili Sangtam also visited the stall and interacted with the students. The school Eco Club sold jute bags at “Buy one get one free “basis and drew a lot of public attention on the Republic Day Celebration at Kiphire, Nagaland.
32 AR: Marking the occasion of 67th Republic Day, 32 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 6 sector Assam Rifles led by the CO Col. V.S Shikarwar visited different orphanages around Dimapur on January 26.
The Assam Rifles team visited St. Joseph Orphanage home, Dimapur and Arson Star orphanage home Dimapur and provided the children of the orphanages with lunch. The Assam rifles led by the CO and accompanied by his wife and other officers also interacted with the children.
The team appreciated the efforts of the caretakers in taking care and bringing hope to the destitute children and also assured that the Assam Rifles will continue to give a helping hand to the children of these homes.
Social Welfare deptt. Peren: On the occasion of the 67th Republic Day celebration, the department of the Social Welfare, Peren district visited District Hospital, Peren on January 26.
The team comprised of CDPOs, Namhuheing, Tekatemjen Longkumer, Akali Sema and staffs interacted with Dr. Dennese, nurses and patients. Bible reading and mass prayer was conducted. The team also distributed food items.
DGU: Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) distributed food items along with Bethesda officials at Bethesda recovery home on January 26.
GPP Kohima: Gorkha Public Panchayat, Kohima visited old age home on the eve of the 67th republic day and contributed food stuff and monetary assistance to the management.
BJP Nagaland state unit: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland state unit celebrated 67th Republic Day at party head office Aiko building opposite town hall, Dimapur. General Secretary (organisation) Prashan Arora, led the programme on the occasion and state president Visasolie Lhoungu, unfurled the national flag. State Mahila Morcha, Yuva Morcha, Dimapur district BJP & Yuva and all well wishers from the other parts of the State attended the programme.
MUSSHGGM Kohima: Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti Hans Geeta Gyan Mandir (MUSSHGGM) Kohima Nagaland visited and distributed fruits to patients at Naga Hospital Kohima on the occasion 67th India Republic Day and birthday St. Shree Vibhuji Maharaj Ji.
Lions & Leo Clubs: Lions and Leo Club of Dimapur celebrated 67th Republic Day on January26 at Lions centre. In a press release, PRO Leo Club Dimapur, Ankit Paharia said on the accession the members visited the Prodigals Home and distributed food and stationery items.
MCD: Members of the Muslim Council Dimapur distributed food packets among the patients and staff of Christian Institute of Health Sciences & Research (Referral Hospital) on the occasion of Republic Day celebration.
BCYF Dimapur: Believers church youth fellowship (BCYF) Dimapur zone observed Republic Day on January 26 by organising a social work to spread the message and initiative of “Clean India”.
About 30 youth took part in cleaning the parking area of railway station, taxi stand and NST office, with a view towards changing people’s attitudes toward sanitation and to stop littering public places.
Program begun with a short prayer by Rev. Fr. Xuvishe and short sharing by Rev. Fr. Kasthang Kath who encouraged the youths to cultivate the habit of using dustbins and be an example to “our” neighbours.
Puliebadze Club: Puliebadze Club office bearers and members led by its president, Vizovoto Nagi paid a visit to the state Mental Hospital at Aradura, Kohima, in commemoration of Republic Day on January 26. During the visit, a short program was organised with the inmates and staff wherein Rev. Savito Nagi gave a short speech and led a mass prayer. The club also has donated several food items to the hospital.
Nagaland adventure club: Members of Nagaland adventure club visited Eden gardens children home at Khuzama on January 26 on the occasion of Republic day. The club donated firewood, sports items, clothes and notebooks to the children.
NCSU:  Nagaland Contractors & Suppliers Union (NCSU) Kohima visited Youth Mission Ministry at Seikhazou, Kohima on January 26  as part of the home visitation on the occasion of Republic Day.
A brief introduction and prayer was led by Rev. Dr. Thupu-o Nyekha, president Youth Mission Ministry while short sharing on behalf of NCSU was made by John Kath, general secretary NCSU. Later, the NCSU distributed essential commodities to the Ministry.
CTB: Charitable Trust Brothers (CTB) on Republic Day donated money for Poor Patients Fund (PPF) to District Hospital Kiphire(DHK). The amount was handed over to Medical Superintendent Kiphire Dr.Robin Lotha in presence of minister for Power Nagaland C.Kipili Sangtam who was the chief guest of the Republic day celebration at public ground Kiphire. The Poor Patients Fund (PPF) was meant for poor patients who could not buy medicine on time of treatment at District Hospital Kiphire with the condition to have minimum balance of rupees five thousand in PPF’s account.
CTBs also made a maiden visit to Sub-jail Kiphire and also declared to sponsored one year full scholarship and admission facility to Rotila Sangtam of Class 2 Agape School Kiphire.
SBI RBO Mokokchung: SBI RBO Mokokchung distributed fruits to the jail inmates of Mokokchung on the occasion of Indian Republic Day. The program was led by D.K. Lagachu CM (Admin), K. Baishya CM (Cr & NPA) and other officials and staffs of SBI RBO Mokokchung.
