The search operation to recover the body of the youth feared drowned in Doyang Reservoir entered its third day on Tuesday, but despite intensified efforts, the rescue teams could not locate the body.
Personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) carried out extensive searches throughout the day using available resources. However, the operation remained unsuccessful due to the vast expanse, depth, and cold water conditions of the reservoir.
Authorities said the search would continue on April 15, which is likely to be the final day of the operation. Officials expressed hope that the body would be recovered by Wednesday.
The search teams are also awaiting the arrival of an underwater drone to aid the efforts.
Local have been extending support to the rescue personnel by providing food, water, and other essentials, while many have remained at the site in solidarity.
