Primary Health Centre Longnak and HWC Changki inaugurated

As part of the ongoing Departmental District Tour, two major health facilities were inaugurated on Thursday in Mokokchung district. Project Director, Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Mereninla Senlem, inaugurated the new building of the Health & Wellness Centre (HWC) at Changki, while MLA and Advisor for Transport and Technical Education, Temjenmenba, inaugurated the Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Longnak.
Speaking at the inauguration of HWC Changki, Dr. Mereninla Senlem described the new facility as a gift from the Government of India to the people, aimed at bringing healthcare closer to the community. She emphasized the importance of maintaining healthy lifestyles to prevent the rise of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and mental health issues. She further lauded the active participation of the community and urged continued contributions to support the growth and upkeep of the centre, thereby strengthening the health system.
At Longnak, Temjenmenba, MLA, commended the efforts of the village councils, landowners, and the community for their contributions in achieving this milestone. He called upon health workers to dedicate themselves to the service of humanity and ensure that the PHC becomes a centre of quality healthcare delivery.
A team from the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima, along with officials from the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Mokokchung, also visited PHC Sabangya and inspected ongoing construction sites at PHC Khensa and Ayush Hospital Chungtia. The team later visited CHC Mangkolemba, where a coordination meeting was held with representatives of the administration, HCMC, community-based organizations (CBOs), faith-based organizations (FBOs) and staff of CHC Mangkolemba at the ADC Office Hall.
The directorate team is scheduled to inspect construction sites at IMDH and hold a District Review Meeting on April 17, 2026.
