IT equipment distributed in Kiphire

The District Economics & Statistics Office, Kiphire, organized a programme for the distribution of IT equipment at the DPDB hall on Wednesday, aimed at strengthening online registration of births and deaths.
Secretary and chief registrar of Births & Deaths, Nagaland, Akunu S. Meyase, attended the event along with departmental dignitaries. In her address, Meyase emphasized that birth and death records are the only legal proof of a person’s existence. She noted that although the government mandated online registration in April 2022, full implementation remains pending. Urging registrars to work sincerely and the public to cooperate, she later distributed IT equipment to facilitate the process.
Director and additional chief registrar of Births & Deaths, Neidilhou Keditsu, advised citizens to provide real-time data and announced plans for suo moto registration of records. DC and district chief registrar, Temsuwati Longkumer, highlighted the importance of birth certificates as the foundation of identity and encouraged greater attention to registration.
