Monsoon preparedness meet in Kiphire

Kiphire district administration convened a monsoon preparedness meeting with all heads of offices on April 16 at the DPDB hall, Kiphire. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Temsuwati Longkumer.
Addressing the members, the DC stressed the need for advanced preparedness and directed departmental heads to assess ground situations and update their readiness before the onset of monsoon.
Departments of Food & Civil Supplies, Power, Medical and PHED reviewed advance ration stocks for cut-off areas, power backup supply and line maintenance, medicine consignments, drinking water supply and restoration plans.
PWD and National Highway authorities were instructed to ensure roads remain intact, clear blockades and submit compliance reports before the monsoon. Agriculture and allied departments were asked to ensure availability of paddy seeds for farmers ahead of the season.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the chair.
