GMS Kezoma gets new building

The new building of Government Middle School (GMS), Kezoma Urban Station, Kohima district, was inaugurated on April 17, 2026, by advisor for Prisons, Printing & Stationery, Er. Kropol Vitsu, in the presence of officials, community leaders and residents.
The new infrastructure, replaced the dilapidated old structures, was welcomed with much enthusiasm by the community, reflecting the significance of the facility for local education.
Addressing the gathering as special guest, Er. Vitsu lauded the collective efforts of stakeholders in making the project a reality. He emphasized that government schools are manned by qualified teachers selected through rigorous competitive examinations and urged parents to change their perception of government institutions. He called upon parents to enroll their children in government schools and extend active support to the education system.
Vitsu further stressed that teachers require cooperation and encouragement from parents and the community to deliver their best. He noted that a strong partnership between teachers and parents would enhance the quality of education and restore confidence in government schools.
Earlier, Head GB Puviho Kiso expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their support in realizing the project. Pastor Neilzü Mekro pronounced the benediction, while the programme began with an invocation by pastor Khweneil Cürhah. Council chairman Kenongoto Tase delivered the welcome address, and Dr. Kevizakie Rio, joint director of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland, spoke on behalf of the Department of School Education.
