Senior Men’s Inter District Tournament : Dimapur, Chumoukedima enter final

The Senior Men’s Inter District Tournament 2026 reached its decisive stage on Tuesday, with Dimapur and Chumoukedima securing convincing semi-final victories to set up a high-voltage final clash.
At Sovima Cricket Ground, Dimapur overcame Niuland by 47 runs in a hard-fought contest. Batting first, Dimapur posted 175 all out in 41.3 overs, with Samir Ali (36) and Anirudh Yadav (30) contributing crucial runs. Niuland’s bowlers, led by Vino G Zhimomi (4/19), kept the innings in check.
In reply, Niuland faltered at 128 all out in 39.4 overs, despite Hokaito Zhimomi’s 27. Dimapur’s bowling attack proved decisive, spearheaded by Joshua Ben Ozukum, who claimed 4/19 to earn the Player of the Match award.
Meanwhile, at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Chumoukedima produced a dominant display to defeat Kohima by 126 runs. Batting first, Chumoukedima piled up 315 in 50 overs, powered by a brilliant 127 from Aloto Sumi and a fluent 64 from Yugi. Kohima’s bowlers—Imomenba (3/41) and Peter (3/67)—picked up wickets but struggled to contain the scoring.
Chasing a daunting target, Kohima managed 189 before being bowled out in 45.3 overs. Seyievizo Zaputou (39) and Zidu (27) offered resistance, but Chumoukedima’s bowlers, led by Imliwati (4/21) and Jonathan Rongsen (3/49), sealed the emphatic win. Aloto Sumi was named Player of the Match for his match-winning century.
With both teams showcasing strong all-round performances, the stage is now set for an exciting finale. Dimapur and Chumoukedima will face off in the Final on April 24 at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Chumoukedima, promising a thrilling contest to decide the champion of the 2026 edition.
