Maruti Suzuki India Limited announced on Thursday that it achieved its highest-ever annual production volume of 23.4 lakh passenger vehicles in FY2025-26, becoming the only original equipment maker in the country to reach such a milestone. The automaker also became the first among Suzuki Motor Corporation’s global facilities to achieve this landmark, with plans to scale production to 40 lakh units annually. Popular models including Dzire, Fronx, Swift, Ertiga, and Baleno each crossed the two lakh unit mark during the year.
Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi credited the achievement to strong collaboration with employees, vendors, and dealers, supported by favorable government policies such as GST 2.0. Maruti Suzuki currently operates four plants in Haryana and Gujarat with a combined capacity of 24 lakh units. In March 2026, the company identified land for a fifth facility at Sanand, Gujarat, which will add 10 lakh units annually once operational, further strengthening its position as India’s largest carmaker.
