On April 23, filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah unveiled the poster and title of his upcoming film Governor: The Silent Saviour to coincide with lead actor Manoj Bajpayee’s birthday. Directed by Chinmay Mandlekar, the first poster shows Bajpayee walking down a corridor with a suitcase, accompanied by the tagline, “If I fail… India fails,” hinting at a high-stakes legal drama. Another poster highlights a green chair with the lines, “India is on the verge of bankruptcy” and “Yeh sirf kursi nahi… zimmedaari hai,” pointing to an intense narrative centered on national responsibility.
The film, backed by Sunshine Pictures, marks the first collaboration between National Award winners Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Manoj Bajpayee. Co-starring Adah Sharma, Governor is set for theatrical release on June 12, 2026. With lyrics by Javed Akhtar and music composed by Amit Trivedi, the project promises a gripping drama blending politics, law, and national stakes. Bajpayee shared the poster on social media, calling the film a tribute to an “unsung hero” who fought an “untold war,” while Shah described it as a cinematic wonder designed to resonate with audiences across India.
