Sikkim CM reviews preparations for PM’s 2-day visit to state

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Thursday reviewed the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to the Himalayan state from April 27.
Accompanied by ministers, MLAs, Chief Secretary Ravindra Telang, DGP Akshay Sachdeva, and secretaries of various departments, Tamang inspected the places that the PM may visit during his tour of the state.
He directed officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
The CM stressed maintaining the highest standards of security, coordination and logistical readiness, while ensuring the smooth conduct of all scheduled events.
Modi is scheduled to land at Libing Helipad at 3 pm on April 27 and undertake a roadshow to Lok Bhawan in the state capital, covering a distance of around 3 km, officials said.
On April 28, the PM will attend a grand function at Paljor Stadium to mark the conclusion of the year-long celebrations of 50 years of Sikkim’s statehood, they said.
The Sikkim government has also issued an official order prohibiting flying of drones across Gangtok district in view of the PM’s visit.According to the notification issued by the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, the restriction will remain in force from April 26-28.
Any violation will invite legal action, it added.
