Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher has penned a heartfelt note remembering the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, recalling their meeting during Jackson’s 1996 visit to India. Sharing a photograph on Instagram of himself shaking hands with Jackson, Kher described the moment as “like touching a piece of magic,” adding that Jackson was “not just an artist, you were an experience.” He called Jackson a phenomenon the world may never witness again, praising his art, innocence, and genius as blessings to humanity.
Kher’s tribute coincided with the release of Jackson’s biopic directed by Antoine Fuqua, which traces the singer’s journey from the Jackson 5 era to the 1980s Bad tour. The film stars Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson in the lead role, alongside Juliano Krue Valdi as young Michael, with supporting performances from Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Jessica Sula, Mike Myers, Miles Teller, and Colman Domingo. Kher concluded his note by calling Jackson “God’s gift to mankind” and the “eighth wonder of the world.”
