Four Killed in Neemrana Scrap Warehouse Fire, Probe Underway

A devastating fire at a scrap warehouse in Neemrana’s Mohladia village late Friday evening claimed four lives, including that of a 7-year-old girl, and triggered panic across the industrial zone. Officials said the blaze, intensified by a loud explosion, quickly spread to an adjoining plastic granule unit. Workers trapped inside were unable to escape as a truck parked at the warehouse gate caught fire, blocking the exit. Eyewitnesses reported that some tried to climb a boundary wall but failed due to its height. The victims’ bodies were later shifted to a government hospital, while DNA sampling will be conducted to confirm identities.

Multiple fire tenders from Neemrana, Ghiloth, and the Japanese Zone battled the flames for nearly two hours before bringing them under control. Senior officials, including police and district administration, rushed to the site, while SDRF and forensic teams joined rescue and investigation operations. Superintendent of Police Satvir Singh confirmed that all four bodies were recovered and said the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has begun examining the site. Locals reported that two people remained missing, raising fears that the death toll could rise further.

Preliminary findings suggest inadequate firefighting arrangements at the warehouse and factory contributed to the rapid spread of the blaze. Authorities are probing the exact cause, while residents demand accountability for safety lapses in the industrial zone. The incident has underscored the risks posed by unsafe storage of scrap materials, including empty perfume bottles, and highlighted the urgent need for stricter enforcement of fire safety norms in areas adjoining residential societies.
