Naga Students’ Union Bengaluru (NSUB) organised a candlelight vigil on April 26 at Paalanaa Bhavana in honour of late Chinaoshang Shokwungnao of Tushar village, late Yaruingam Vashum of Kharasom village, and late Horshokmi Jamang of Chatrik Khullen on April 26.
According to a press release, the solemn gathering drew close to 300 attendees who came together in reflection, solidarity and collective mourning. The vigil was led by Angami Students’ Union Bangalore (ASUB) president, Vilhu Chalieu, who guided the proceedings with dignity and purpose.
Messages of solidarity were delivered by Yuikan Shirik, founder of Neurons Designs Pvt. Ltd., and a senior member of the Tangkhul community, who underscored the importance of Naga unity and urged all communities to stand together in mutual respect, compassion and collective strength during times of grief and uncertainty. Invocation was offered by pastor Tamalong Pongen of Naga Christian Fellowship Bangalore (NCFB), while pastor Livingson Rakhangmi of Thangal Fellowship Bangalore (TFB) pronounced the benediction. NSUB clarified that the vigil was strictly non-political, emphasising that it was not intended to promote any agenda but to provide a respectful and inclusive space for mourning, reflection and solidarity.
