Assam Rifles undertake outreach initiatives

Assam Rifles organised a series of programmes across Nagaland, reflecting its commitment to welfare, awareness, and community engagement.
At Jalukie, Peren district, a Rubaru session on emotional well-being was conducted for families under the theme “Apne Jazbaaton ko Samjhana” (Understanding Our Emotions). Led by Dr. Vandini Setia, the session emphasised creativity and empathy as tools to nurture resilience in military families. Thirty-four families participated, sharing experiences and learning strategies for emotional regulation. The initiative underscored the force’s dedication to holistic welfare beyond operational duties.
In Kohima, Assam Rifles organised a Yoga awareness lecture at Kendriya Vidyalaya on April 24 as part of the run-up to the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026. The session highlighted the benefits of Yoga for concentration, stress management, and immunity, inspiring students and faculty to adopt Yoga as part of their daily routine.
On the same day, a motivational lecture on Operation Sindoor was held at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma, marking the one-year anniversary of the landmark operation. Seventy-six students and staff attended the session, which provided insights into the operation’s planning, execution, and significance in national security preparedness. The interactive session evoked enthusiasm among youth, fostering patriotism and awareness of contemporary security challenges.
Assam Rifles also collaborated with National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit to conduct a cleanliness drive at Mount Olive College, Kohima, on April 24 as part of World Earth Day observance. The drive involved officers, personnel, and 47 students, who undertook cleaning of the campus and adjoining areas, segregated waste, and spread awareness on plastic pollution. At Little Flower School, Kohima, a poster-making and painting competition was held on the theme “Say No to Terrorism and Peace Over Violence.” Students creatively expressed their ideas through vibrant artworks, conveying strong messages against terrorism and underscoring the importance of harmony, non-violence, and national integration.
