East Bengal FC consolidated their position in the top half of the Indian Super League (ISL) table with a commanding 3-0 win over Odisha FC at the Fatorda Stadium on Tuesday.
The Red and Gold Brigade struck early through Bipin Singh Thounaojam in the 11th minute, before Moroccan forward Youssef Ezzejjari netted twice in the second half to seal the result. With this victory, East Bengal climbed to fourth place with 18 points from nine matches, while Odisha remained in 13th with six points. Bipin Singh was named Man of the Match for his goal and assist.
East Bengal began aggressively, with Edmund Lalrindika nearly scoring inside three minutes. Sustained pressure paid off when Lalrindika and PV Vishnu combined on the left, setting up Bipin Singh for a simple finish at the far post. The hosts dominated possession, with Vishnu and Nandhakumar posing constant threats, while Odisha relied on sporadic counter-attacks led by Rahim Ali, though goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Gill kept them at bay. Odisha’s late first-half efforts were denied by Gill, ensuring East Bengal carried a slender lead into the break. The second half mirrored the first, with East Bengal dictating play. In the 70th minute, Vishnu’s cross caused confusion in the Odisha box, allowing Ezzejjari to score from close range. Fourteen minutes later, Bipin Singh’s cut-back found Ezzejjari again, who calmly slotted home his second to put the contest beyond doubt. Odisha’s captain Carlos Delgado came closest to scoring with a header that drifted wide, but the visitors lacked cutting edge in the final third. East Bengal managed the closing stages comfortably, securing all three points and strengthening their push for a top-four finish.
