ANPHEGU urges govt to fill up vacant posts in sports, PE

DIMAPUR: All Nagaland Physical Education Graduate Union (ANPHEGU) has urged the state government to immediately fill up vacant posts in sports and physical education (PE) across various departments to strengthen the sports ecosystem in Nagaland.
In a press release, the union appealed to the department of youth resources & sports to take urgent steps for the advertisement and recruitment of vacant posts of district sports officers (DSOs), physical instructors (PIs), and coaches.
ANPHEGU also sought requisitioning of all such vacancies through the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) and the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) at the earliest.
Further, the union appealed to the Department of School Education to initiate the process for filling up vacant posts of physical education teachers (PETs) in government schools through proper requisition via NSSB/NPSC.
It also requested the department of higher education to advertise and recruit assistant professors in physical education for government colleges by routing the vacancies through the Nagaland Public Service Commission as per established norms.
The union stressed that timely recruitment to those critical positions would play a vital role in the overall development of sports in the state, improve athlete performance, and create a structured pathway for talent identification and progression from the grassroots level.
All Nagaland Physical Education Graduate Union reiterated its commitment to support all initiatives aimed at promoting and developing sports and physical education in Nagaland.
