The Union Health Ministry will observe a pan-India ‘Fire Safety Week’ from May 4 to 10 across healthcare facilities to strengthen preparedness and awareness on fire hazard prevention. The week-long programme will be inaugurated at Kartavya Bhawan by Union Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava.
States and UTs will conduct awareness campaigns, mock drills and training exercises on emergency response and evacuation. The ministry said the initiative aims to ensure strict adherence to safety norms and protect patients, healthcare workers and critical infrastructure.
