KVK holds training on biofertilizers, sustainable farming

DIMAPUR

ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Dimapur, in collaboration with Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Medziphema block, conducted an awareness-cum-training programme on biofertilizers and sustainable agriculture practices at Pherima A on May 4. The programme was held under the thematic area of promoting eco-friendly and sustainable farming systems.
Altogether 24 farmers participated in the training, which was led by technical experts and extension personnel. Dr. Moanaro, programme assistant, KVK Dimapur, shared practical knowledge on the use and benefits of biofertilizers.
The sessions highlighted biofertilizers as a cost-effective and environmentally safe alternative to chemical fertilizers. Farmers were educated on different types of biofertilizers, methods of application, and their role in enhancing soil fertility, improving nutrient availability, and sustaining crop productivity. Sustainable agricultural practices such as integrated nutrient management and soil health improvement were also discussed.
The programme concluded with an interactive session, enabling farmers to clarify doubts and share experiences.
