Unity college hosts drama and art exhibition on creative expression

The Department of Teacher Education at Unity College conducted a Drama and Art Exhibition programme in collaboration with the Women Cell under the theme “Beauty of Drama and Art: Where Logic Ends” at the college premises on May 8.
The programme aimed to enhance students’ professional competencies by encouraging them to express thoughts, emotions, intuitions and desires through artwork, while also developing imagination and self-expression through drama.
The event, organised under the supervision of assistant professors V. Uto Chishi and Akup Buchemhu, was presented as a creative initiative by the 2nd semester students of the department.
The event was chaired by assistant professor Neikerheno Secu. A reflection on “Drama as the Beauty of Strength” was delivered by Chubarenla. The programme featured the first act play titled “Back to Roots”, followed by two short performances — “Theatre of Cruelty” and a Flash Mob presentation. The second act, “Savitri Bai”, focused on women empowerment.
A further reflection on “Art: The Power of Unlocking Imagination” was shared by Benito L Shohe.
The programme concluded with the final act, “Ghar Bakri Toofan”, which left the audience reflecting on the purpose and meaning of life.
