DIMAPUR: In a major step toward strengthening livestock farming and digital extension services in Northeast India, the Central Agricultural University, Imphal (CAU‑I) launched the mobile application “PASHU SATHI” during the 8th College Extension Advisory Committee (CEAC) meeting held at the College of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, on May 8.
The app was formally launched by director of Extension Services, Dr. Sunil Nayak, Veterinary Science University Jabalpur, Nanaji Deshmukh, and principal Scientist & Head, DTAC, ICAR Research Complex, Umiam, Dr. B.P. Singh, in the presence of Dr. I. Shakuntala, Dean of the College.
Designed as a comprehensive digital support platform, ‘PASHU SATHI’ aimed to assist piggery and poultry farmers across the Northeast, with special emphasis on Nagaland. The app provides scientific livestock management practices, disease prevention guidance, nutrition information, and access to veterinary advisory services through a user‑friendly interface.
The application was developed by a team comprising Dr. Gunjan Das, Dr. Imtiwati, Dr. Bhabesh Mili, and Gaurav Kishor Saxena.
