DNHE celebrates 25 anniversary

DIMAPUR, MAY 12 (NPN): Dimapur Nkonjan Humtsothung Ekhung (DNHE) celebrated its 25th year of inception on Tuesday at Angh Hall, Agri Expo, 4th Mile, Chümoukedima under the theme “Brotherhood Love” (Poatso jeni nzan).
The jubilee celebration was graced by Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe MLA as special guest, while Dr. N. Janbemo Humtsoe attended as theme speaker. Extending jubilee greetings, Mhonbemo described the occasion as a celebration of God’s blessings and a time for retrospection, introspection and renewal. He paid tribute to the pioneers whose sacrifices laid the foundation for the community, urging the gathering to preserve their identity, strengthen unity, uphold family values and remain connected to their clan and community.
Speaking on the theme, Dr. Janbemo reflected on the resilience of forefathers who thrived through unity and cooperation despite limited resources. He emphasized that true wealth lies in relationships and family bonds, encouraging forgiveness, reconciliation and quality time with relatives. He cautioned against selfishness, greed and jealousy, calling for obedience, confidence and love. Quoting an African proverb, he said, “When there is no enemy within, the enemies outside cannot hurt you.”
Highlights of the programme included the release of the jubilee souvenir, a minute of silence in remembrance of departed members, prayers, special songs and blessings.
The programme was chaired by DNHE chairman, P. Yanbemo Humtsoe. Invocation prayer was proposed by M. John Humtsoe, catechist of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Dimapur, while the welcome address was delivered by convenor of the jubilee planning committee, Nchumbemo Humtsoe. Audit report was presented by convenor of the jubilee finance committee, Dr. K.N. Zubemo Humtsoe.
Vote of thanks was delivered by secretary of the jubilee planning committee, Dr. Elithung Humtsoe, followed by a mass prayer proposed by associate pastor of Lotha Baptist Church, Diphupar ‘B’, Nrithung Humtsoe.
The jubilee feast was graced by CNY pastor of Lotha Baptist Church, Borlengri, William Humtsoe.
