Lalenthangi bags Nightingale Nurse award

Aizawl, May 12 (PTI): Lalenthangi Hnamte aka Maeni, a female health worker currently serving at the Health and Wellness Centre in Mizoram’s Lunglei district, was conferred the prestigious National Florence Nightingale Nurses Award on Tuesday.
Hnamte received the award from President Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of International Nurses Day in New Delhi on Tuesday. The award, one of India’s highest recognitions for nursing professionals, carries a certificate of honour, a medal, and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. Hnamte was recognised for her dedicated service and contribution to healthcare delivery at the grassroots level. Meanwhile, Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh congratulated Hnamte on winning the prestigious award.
“This esteemed recognition honours her outstanding dedication, compassion and selfless service in the field of public health. Being selected among only 15 awardees from across the entire country is a proud moment for our state,” Singh said.
He added that Hnamte’s achievement is a moment of immense pride for Mizoram and a shining inspiration to healthcare workers everywhere.
