Sainik School Punglwa celebrates 19th Rising Day

DIMAPUR: Sainik School Punglwa, Nagaland celebrated its 19th Rising Day on May 12 with a series of events blending athletic excellence and military pride.
The day’s highlights included the finals of the Inter‑House Volleyball Championship, a motivational lecture by distinguished alumnus Asst. Comdt. Khesito Yhokha of CRPF, traditional cake‑cutting ceremony, and a community meal for cadets and staff.
The volleyball tournament, which began on May 4, concluded with Melak House clinching the junior title against Pauna House, while Japfu House secured the senior championship over Tizu House. Cadet Namit of Pauna House was adjudged Best Player in the junior category, and Cadet Haulimchu Chang of Japfu House received Best Player honours in the senior division.
Delivering the motivational lecture, Asst. Comdt. Yhokha—recipient of the prestigious Sword of Honour and Home Minister’s Cup at CRPF Academy—urged cadets to work hard and uphold indomitable discipline to achieve success. His address was followed by an interactive session with cadets.
The celebration culminated with a cake‑cutting ceremony by the two youngest cadets, Koklila Sangtam and Konjong P. Nemdaklee. Principal Col (Dr) Smita Misra extended greetings to the fraternity, distributed trophies to winners, and felicitated the alumnus for inspiring the next generation of leaders.
