Tovra Works signs MoU with DSU to create career pathways for youth

Correspondent

KOHIMA, MAY 15 (NPN): In a move aimed at bridging the gap between education and employment in Nagaland, Tovra Works and the Dapfhütsumia Student Union (DSU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Kohima to provide career-ready skill training opportunities for youth.
According to a press release, the agreement marked a shared commitment by both organisations to ensure that young people from the Dapfhütsumia community were provided with clearer employment pathways after completing their education.
The release informed that many youths across Nagaland completed their schooling and graduation without adequate direction, income opportunities, or access to professional career pathways despite possessing talent and ambition. It said the partnership sought to address these challenges by opening structured and accessible opportunities for unemployed and underemployed youth.
Under the partnership, DSU would act as a community bridge by connecting students and youth from its network with the professional training programmes offered by Tovra Works in culinary arts and hospitality. The organisations would also work together to reach unemployed and underemployed youth within the community area and surrounding regions.
Tovra Works currently offered three professional programmes in affiliation with Atithi Virksha Shikska (AVS), which is THSC-certified, in collaboration with Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) and Nagaland Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Mission (NSEDM).
The programmes include Global Culinary Fellowship (Hot Kitchen), Global Culinary Fellowship (Bakery and Patisserie), and Short-Term Hospitality and Hotel Operations. Graduates from these programmes are reportedly placed in leading hotel brands such as Taj Hotels, ITC Hotels, Marriott International and Novotel.
The release further stated that Tovra Works, a Kohima-based multi-skill career training brand, was dedicated to creating professional pathways for unemployed youth from Northeast India. It stated that the name “TOVRA” stood for Talent, Opportunity, Vision, Resilience and Ability.
Operating in affiliation with AVS and in collaboration with IDAN and NSEDM, the organisation stated that it aimed to become Nagaland’s most trusted homegrown training institution.
