TSUK organises Open Futsal7-A-Side Tournament in Kohima

DIMAPUR, MAY 16 (NPN): Tikhir Students’ Union Kohima (TSUK) organised an Open Futsal 7- A-Side Tournament at Pro Turf Seven, High School Kohima, on May 15.
United Homies (B) emerged as champions, bagging a cash prize of Rs. 20,000, while Dream FC finished runners up with Rs. 15,000. Individual awards went to Hukaito (United Homies B) as Best Goalkeeper and Kanaito (AXU FC) as Highest Scorer with nine goals.
The tournament began with a brief opening programme hosted by TSUK information secretary Toju K.N. TSUK president Zisekyu T. Chirr delivered the welcome address, followed by an exhortation from the executive secretary. Invocation was offered by the youth pastor of Tikhir Baptist Church, Kohima.
Altogether 30 teams participated.
At the closing programme, TSUK general secretary K.J. Musushe delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating the cooperation of teams, referees, officials and supporters. The prize distribution was conducted by games and sports secretary Kheantsumong B.
TSUK expressed hope that such sporting events would continue to foster unity, healthy competition and camaraderie among the youth.
