Kohima Police recover two stolen motorcycles

DIMAPUR: Kohima Police has recovered two stolen motorcycles and apprehended two minor suspects in connection with separate vehicle theft cases.
According to the PRO of Kohima Police, the case was initially registered on May 8, 2026, following a complaint regarding the theft of a motorcycle from Midland Colony in Kohima.
Acting on technical and human intelligence inputs, the police team successfully identified and apprehended the two suspects, both of whom are juveniles. During the investigation, police recovered the motorcycle stolen from Midland Colony and also traced a second motorcycle reported stolen under the jurisdiction of North Police Station. The operation led to the resolution of two separate vehicle theft cases.
Following their apprehension, both minors were forwarded to the Observation Home in accordance with procedures laid down under the Juvenile Justice Act. Police also informed that after completion of all legal formalities, both recovered motorcycles were handed over to their rightful owners. Kohima Police reiterated its commitment to curbing property-related crimes and ensuring public safety. It also urged citizens to adopt preventive measures against vehicle theft and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
