DIMAPUR: The nation-wide Information, Education & Communication (IEC) campaign under PM JANMAN and DA-JGUA, themed “Jan Bhagidari – Sabse Door Sabse Pehle”, has been launched across Nagaland districts to create awareness on government welfare schemes for tribal communities and conduct beneficiary saturation drives for Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).
In Zunheboto, the campaign was held on May 19 at the DC’s Conference Hall, chaired by ADC Shaying Sheu. He emphasized collective responsibility of departments in ensuring welfare schemes reach every doorstep, stating that “even if one person benefits, that itself counts.” It was resolved that awareness drives would be conducted on a cluster basis across the district from May 25–27, covering villages under Akuluto, Suruhuto, Aghunato, Atoizu, Satoi, Pughoboto, Zunheboto and Satakha. A review meeting will be held on May 29.
In Longleng, the campaign was launched on May 18 at the DC’s office by Deputy Commissioner W. Manpai Phom. The programme, scheduled from May 18–25, includes village-level awareness campaigns, beneficiary saturation drives, health camps, Aadhaar enrolment, welfare scheme facilitation and grievance redressal sessions. A review meeting will be held on May 25 to assess progress.
In Phek, the campaign was launched on May 20 at the DC’s Conference Hall by Deputy Commissioner Rhosietho Nguori, along with district heads of offices. The initiative aims to reach tribal communities and PVTGs in remote areas with the benefits of government schemes. The IEC campaign, being implemented across districts, seeks to ensure saturation of welfare schemes, strengthen awareness, and promote inclusive development through active participation of departments, civil society and citizens.
