Mass social work in Peren

DIMAPUR: A district-wide departmental mass social work will be conducted in Peren on May 22 from 7:30 a.m. onwards.
The social work will cover areas from Zero Point to the Deputy Commissioner’s residence, extending up to the G.A. House. Departments have also been directed to clean their respective offices and compounds after clearing roadside grass.
According to District Planning Officer Danyi Domeh, participation has been made mandatory for all government officers and staff at the district headquarters as well as in all subdivisions. The Deputy Commissioner’s office will strictly monitor attendance during the drive.
As an incentive, the cleanest departmental office will be awarded, as decided in a previous District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting.
In addition to government participation, NGOs, civil society organisations (CSOs), and citizens have been encouraged to undertake tree plantation along roadsides during the monsoon season. The initiative aims to strengthen the district’s “Green Peren” declaration by the DPDB and promote preservation of flora and fauna.
All departments have been directed to ensure active participation and cooperation in the upcoming programme.
