State govt sets deadline for staff verification

DIMAPUR, MAY 22 (NPN): The State government has directed all “unauthenticated” state government employees to mandatorily submit identity documents for verification and authentication under the Personal Information Management System (PIMS).
According to a notification issued by Personnel & Administrative Reforms department through the PIMS Cell on May 22, the initiative has been undertaken to strengthen employee authentication and ensure better governance.
The department stated that the State government had earlier issued several instructions to departments and employees for linking Aadhaar with PIMS through official memorandums issued on June 14, 2018, August 2, 2018, October 29, 2018 and July 28, 2021.
However, it stated that a significant number of employees were yet to complete the Aadhaar linkage process, resulting in failure of identity authentication.
In view of the need to authenticate all State government employees, the notification directed all unauthenticated employees to submit identity documents to their respective departments for onward submission to the P&AR department.
As per the notification, Aadhaar has been prescribed as the first option for authentication.
In cases where Aadhaar is unavailable or an employee refuses to provide Aadhaar, the notification stated that employees may alternatively submit any two of the following documents in accordance with the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020: (i) PAN Card; (ii) Driving Licence; (iii) Indian Passport;
(iv) Bank passbook of the salary account; and (v) HSLC or equivalent Class X admit card displaying photograph, father’s name and date of birth.
The notification further directed all unauthenticated employees to comply with the order and submit the required documents to their respective departments on or before June 3, 2026.
