DIMAPUR, MAY 24 (NPN): Nagaland governor Nand Kishore Yadav has urged students to pursue education with dedication, humility and determination and aspire to become responsible citizens contributing positively to society and the nation.
Addressing the 14th Felicitation Programme 2026 organised by Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj (NBS) to honour meritorious HSLC and HSSLC students of the Bhojpuri community, the governor described education as the foundation of progress and character building.
Congratulating the students on their achievements, Yadav said their success was the result of hard work, discipline and unwavering support of parents and teachers. He remarked that such accomplishments brought pride not only to individuals but to the entire community.
The governor also appreciated parents and teachers for their sacrifices and guidance in shaping the future of children.
Highlighting the contribution of the Bhojpuri community in the state, Yadav said the community had made valuable contributions to the social and cultural life of Nagaland.
He further lauded NBS for organising the felicitation programme and said such initiatives foster unity, inspire young minds and reinforce the value of education.
Meanwhile, guest of honour and BJP Nagaland state treasurer Kamal Jain also congratulated the students and acknowledged the crucial role played by parents and teachers in supporting their academic journey.
He further commended NBS for organising the programme and said such initiatives motivated students to strive harder and achieve greater success.
Earlier, the programme began with lighting of the ceremonial lamp and welcome address by NBS president Rajeev Singh. Cultural dances were also presented during the programme.
A total of 40 students were felicitated, including four toppers in the recently held NBSE HSLC and HSSLC examinations, 15 HSSLC students securing 80% and above, and 21 HSLC students securing 80% and above. HSLC first rank holder Aman Kumar also delivered a short speech.
