Ura Academy to hold 56th annual seminar

DIMAPUR: Ura Academy will organise its 56th annual seminar from May 27 to 29, 2026 at its headquarters, Mission Compound, Kohima, under the theme “U Dieu Cha Kedze” (Paving Language Progression).
According to the organisers, the three day seminar will feature literary discussions, cultural deliberations, conclaves and award presentations involving various Tenyimi organisations and scholars.
The seminar will begin on May 27 with a session involving Literature Boards of Tenyimia communities at 10 a.m., chaired by Kikruneinuo Liezietsu, joint secretary Ura Academy. The main inaugural programme will commence at 4 p.m. under the chairmanship of Kereivilie Kire, secretary general Ura Academy. The welcome address will be delivered by Thinuokhrienuo Tseikhanuo, Krütapfü, Women Welfare Division, while exhortation will be given by Pheluopfhelie Kesiezie, treasurer Ura Academy. A representative from the Tenyimi People’s Organization (TPO), the honoured guest, will also address the gathering.
On May 28, the Ura Academy Rüpfhünuo programme will be held from 10 a.m. under the chairmanship of Dr. Rü ünguso Kuotsu, president Ura Academy Rüpfhünuo. Speakers will include Keneilesa Neikha (Angami Public Organization), Neisevituo Sorhie, Neithono R. Sothu (Angami Women Organisation), Meguo o Mechülho (Ura Academy), Dr. Khrüvolü Keyho (Nagaland University) and Vimedo Keyho (Kohima Science College).
The concluding day on May 29 will feature the Tenyidie Kephrünuoko Krotho (TKK) conclave beginning at 9 a.m., where awards will be presented to HSLC and HSSLC Tenyidie subject toppers, HSSLC Music topper and B.A. Tenyidie topper. Various literary competitions will also be conducted. The seminar will conclude with a valedictory function at 4 p.m., with exhortation by Kekhwengulo Lea, president Tenyimi Union Nagaland, and an address by Daso Paphino, vice president Ura Academy.
