DIMAPUR, MAY 26 (NPN): Economics and Statistics department has informed that all birth and death registrations in Nagaland will be carried out through an online system from June 1, as part of the move towards 100% digital registration.
In a notification, the department clarified that all birth and death certificates issued manually before June 1, 2026 will remain valid for all official purposes, and citizens will not be required to obtain fresh certificates. It stated that the digitisation of manually issued records will continue as an ongoing process across the state. Delayed registration of births and deaths through the online system will also continue as per existing procedures.
Citizens have been advised to ensure that all future registrations are done only through the designated online system. The department has directed district registrars, registrars and registration units to ensure a smooth transition and provide necessary assistance to the public during the shift to the digital platform.
