DIMAPUR: Phom Laaihing Vangsha Pangthai (PLVP) held its 40th conference from May 22 to 24, 2026 hosted by BuraNamsang Baptist Attoi in collaboration with BuraNamsang Village Council under the theme “Theology in a Digital Age.” The event drew more than 400 members and community participants from across the region.
Discussions centred on how theology can be practiced in the digital era, stressing the need for believers to engage technology responsibly while remaining grounded in faith and identity. Sessions included “Who are we without land?” by PLVP president Bachem Phom, “The Joy of Serving” by missionary Chingnyi, “Theology in a Digital Age” by Rev. Beaü, and “Theology in a Violent World” by PBCA literature secretary Moishen M. Phom.
As part of its environmental initiative, participants joined villagers in planting 320 saplings under the PBCA Green Mission theme “One Household, One Plant.” A session on theological students as environmental praxis was led by Chulei, PBCA Christian Education Secretary. Advisor P. Angbhenla Phom also conducted a special session for students and fresh graduates on academic discipline, moral values and church engagement.
Established in 1985 under the Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA), PLVP comprises theological students from 55 churches and focuses on theological reflection, debate, community service, environmental care and preserving biblical truth. During the conference, Volume 6 of the PLVP Journal was released by PBCA executive secretary N. Tialemba Phom. Leadership transition also took place, with Moishen M. Phom assuming office as the new president.
