AR conduct awareness and welfare activities

DIMAPUR: Assam Rifles undertook a series of welfare and outreach programmes across Nagaland, focusing on emotional well‑being, public health, and community infrastructure.
At Jalukie, Peren district, a Rubaru session themed “Apne Jazbaaton ko Samjhana” (Understanding Our Emotions) was organised for families. Conducted by Dr. Vandini Setia, the interactive session highlighted the role of creativity and empathy in nurturing mental health and resilience within military families. A total of 26 families participated, sharing experiences and learning practical strategies for emotional regulation.
In collaboration with the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP), Peren district, Assam Rifles also held a TB awareness lecture under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at Assam Rifles Public School, Jalukie on May 27. Medical experts educated students and teachers on TB symptoms, prevention, and treatment facilities available under government schemes, while stressing the need to overcome social stigma. The initiative aimed to empower the school community as health ambassadors for a TB‑free India. Meanwhile, at Saksi village, Tuensang district, Assam Rifles provided solar lights, a water tank and shelter stores for the community hall on May 26. The support is expected to benefit around 3,800 residents, enhancing facilities for social gatherings and community activities.
Through these initiatives, Assam Rifles reaffirmed its commitment as the “Sentinels of the Northeast” to holistic welfare, public health, and community development.
