DIMAPUR: A coordination meeting on pre monsoon preparedness under the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Meluri, was held on May 22 at the DB’s Court, deputy commissioner’s office, Meluri.
According to DIPR, the meeting was convened under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner & chairman, DDMA Meluri, Phuleshe K. Yepthomi, to strengthen preparedness measures ahead of the monsoon season. Addressing the meeting, Yepthomi emphasized the importance of timely coordination among departments and urged all agencies to remain alert and ensure necessary arrangements for public safety and disaster response during the monsoon period.
Officials from various government departments attended and discussed preparedness strategies, inter departmental coordination, emergency response mechanisms and preventive measures to minimize risks from heavy rainfall, landslides, flash floods and other monsoon related disasters.
The meeting also featured a PowerPoint presentation on pre monsoon preparedness delivered by David Thupitor, nodal officer DDMA Meluri.
