FHR project: LLRPO, YAPO & RALH demand early completion of 5 bridges

DIMAPUR, MAY 29 (NPN): Lotha Lower Range Public Organization (LLRPO), Yamhon Area Public Organization (YAPO) and Ralan Area Lotha Hoho (RALH) extended full support to Achumbemo Kikon, MLA, who recently directed immediate completion of the remaining five double-lane modular steel bridges under the Foothill Road project.
The bridges, located between Doyang Bridge and Merapani-Wokha Jn (38.6 km stretch under EE Baghty Division), include Jakvantchu Bridge– M/S Ren Kik-EZJ & Co.; Shantatchu Bridge– M/S N. Chisho Swu & Sons; Jungtchu Bridge– M/S Quinker Enterprises; Sungkhatchu Bridge– M/S P. Mha-tum & Co. and Tsumang Bridge– M/S Pele Khezhie.
In a joint statement, the organisations said pending works on the bridges, including layouts, wing construction, approach slabs and finishing, should be completed within one-and-a-half months as directed by the MLA during the inauguration programme on May 23.
They noted that the curing period was over and the bridges were expected to be ready by the first week of July 2026. Warning against unnecessary delays, they said strict action should be taken against defaulting contractors or agencies.
The lauded the successful completion of the first-phase earth cutting and single-layer granular sub-base works. They also expressed gratitude to chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio, R&B minister G. Kaito Aye and MLA Achumbemo Kikon for their support and leadership. They appealed for early blacktopping of the completed stretch and reaffirmed their commitment to closely monitor the remaining bridge works in the interest of regional development.
