Governor ensures UDID cards issued in Peren

DIMAPUR: Nagaland Governor, Nand Kishore Yadav, intervened after taking note of a news report highlighting delays in the issuance of Unique Disability ID (UDID) cards to persons with disabilities in Peren district.
According to DIPR report, following his directive, the Department of Social Welfare and the Department of Health & Family Welfare were instructed to process and issue the pending UDID cards of three applicants— Kerehunglungle, Nchayi Kuame, and Keligumbe Hairangbuing —within seven days, by May 29.
Officials confirmed that the three beneficiaries have now successfully received their UDID cards. The departments are also coordinating with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) to facilitate assistive devices and support tailored to the beneficiaries’ individual needs.
The timely intervention has brought relief to the families, enabling them to access government welfare schemes, rehabilitation support and other benefits linked to the UDID system.
Governor Yadav lauded the departments for their prompt response and coordinated efforts in resolving the matter within the stipulated timeframe. He reiterated the importance of ensuring timely delivery of essential services to persons with disabilities and directed the concerned departments to continue addressing procedural delays affecting beneficiaries in the district.
