CNSA opposes proposed shifting of Hindi Institute

DIMAPUR: Central Nagaland Students’ Association (CNSA) has strongly condemned the government’s reported proposal to shift the Hindi Institute located at Oriental Colony, Dimapur, to the in service teacher training institute at Medziphema under Chümoukedima district.
In a press statement, CNSA president, Zuchobemo Jungio and general secretary, Imnayanger Jamir stated that the move would be detrimental to the interests of students, educators and the wider public who have long benefited from the institute’s accessibility and services in Dimapur. It noted that the institute has played a significant role in promoting language education and academic development, with its strategic location enabling students from different districts and neighbouring regions to conveniently access its facilities.
Relocating the institute, CNSA cautioned, would create unnecessary challenges for many students and stakeholders. The association expressed concern that such an important decision appeared to have been proposed without adequate consultation with students, academic stakeholders, civil society organisations and the public.
CNSA urged the government to immediately reconsider the proposed relocation and undertake a comprehensive review of its potential impact. It further called upon the authorities to engage in open dialogue with all concerned stakeholders before proceeding with any decision.
CNSA further said educational institutions must remain accessible, effective and responsive to the needs of the people.
