FGN Khiamniungan Region clarifies on boundary

DIMAPUR: Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN), Khiamniungan Region, has issued a clarification regarding a directive dated May 18, 2026, on the alleged unauthorized establishment of an NSCN K (Ang Mai) camp in the Saramati region.
In a press statement, FGN Khiamniungan Region secretary, Heno Lushing and midan peyu, M. Thangou asserted that it should not be considered part of the Saramati region, clarifying that the area closest to Saramati is known to the Khiamniungans as the Thingniu range, officially termed the Tingniu Sub Region.
The communiqué warned that any misadventure into the Khiamniungan region based on the directive “will not be tolerated.” It further emphasized the importance of peace and unity in eastern Nagaland, rejecting interference by unauthorized groups or factions.
