DIMAPUR, MAY 31 (NPN): The East Dimapur Business Association (EDBA) has expressed concern over the disruption of garbage collection services in East Dimapur and urged the concerned authorities to take immediate steps to address the issue.
In a statement, EDBA said the business community and traders had already paid sanitation fees for the full 12 months during the renewal of their trade licences.
However, it alleged that garbage collection services had come to a halt, creating difficulties for businesses in managing waste and maintaining hygiene around their establishments.
The association said the accumulation of garbage was affecting the cleanliness and appearance of commercial areas and could also pose health and environmental hazards.
It added that traders and business owners were finding it increasingly difficult to manage the growing volume of waste in the absence of regular collection services.
EDBA, therefore, appealed to the concerned authorities to take immediate corrective measures and ensure the prompt resumption of regular garbage collection services.
The association expressed hope that timely intervention would help maintain a clean and healthy environment for businesses, customers and the general public.
