DIMAPUR: The 78 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) celebrated its 41st Raising Day with enthusiasm, pride and patriotic fervour at Battalion Headquarters, Zubza, Kohima on June 1.
According to DIPR report, the battalion raised on June 1, 1985 at Group Centre Avadi, Tamil Nadu, has since rendered distinguished service in various operational theatres across the country, upholding the highest traditions of the Force through dedication, professionalism and commitment to national service.
The celebrations began with homage to brave personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. A Special Sainik Sammelan was organised by the Commandant, followed by sports events, cultural programmes and a Bara Khana, which saw enthusiastic participation from officers, subordinate officers and jawans.
Addressing the gathering, the Commandant, 78 Bn CRPF, extended greetings to all ranks and highlighted the Battalion’s glorious journey since its raising at Avadi. He lauded the courage and selfless service of personnel while emphasizing discipline, operational readiness and public service.
On the occasion, a library named “Aksharalaya” was inaugurated at the Battalion HQ to promote reading and enhance professional capabilities of force personnel.
