Reconsider restrictions on religious and cultural signages in Nagaland

Sir,
I would like to respectfully appeal to the Government of Nagaland to reconsider and keep in abeyance the recent order restricting the use of church names, religious signages, and related displays on private vehicles.
Nagaland is a unique state protected under Article 371(A) of the Constitution of India, which safeguards the religious, social, and cultural practices of the Naga people. Our faith and identity are deeply rooted in our everyday life, and the use of church names or religious expressions has long been part of our social fabric.
Even during the Indo-Naga political talks, the importance of Naga identity and symbols was acknowledged with sensitivity and understanding. Therefore, many citizens may view the present restriction as contrary to the spirit and sentiments of the people.
While everyone respects the legal provisions concerning official number plates and traffic regulations, a complete restriction on religious or social signages on private vehicles may create misunderstanding and hurt public sentiments unnecessarily.
I humbly request the Government to review, reconsider, and if possible, revoke or keep the order in abeyance until wider public consultation is held. Matters connected with people’s faith, culture, and identity are best addressed through dialogue, mutual respect, and understanding.
