Mangmetong village council hosts thanksgiving for Daochir Imchen

MOKOKCHUNG, JUN 6 (NPN): Mangmetong Village Council hosted a Thanksgiving Programme on Saturday at Panchayat Bhavan in honour of newly elected MLA of 28 Koridang A/C and advisor, Information & Public Relations and Soil & Water Conservation, Daochir I. Imchen. The event was attended by party functionaries from district to unit level, village councils, and town and ward authorities.
In his maiden address since being elected, Daochir Imchen expressed gratitude to the people of Koridang A/C for their support, pledging to follow the legacy of his late father Imkong L. Imchen in serving the people. He also thanked Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for entrusting him with the advisor portfolio. As an initial step, Imchen announced an allocation of Rs. 20 lakhs under the District Planning Department (LADP) to accommodate 40 youth for skill development projects. He urged the youth to avail the opportunity judiciously with genuine initiatives, noting that this was only the beginning of efforts towards all round development through coordination and cooperation of stakeholders.
The programme was chaired by Allen Imchen, with a welcome address by Mangmetong Village Council chairman Watitemjen. Short speeches were delivered by MMC Councillor Imkongsanen, district BJP and NPF presidents, village council chairmen, and town and ward authorities. Special songs were presented by Tsuza & friends and the Youth Ministry, MPA, while a family speech was delivered by Yudang Imchen. The thanksgiving prayer was offered by Rev. Dr. I. Lolen Imchen, Pastor of MPA, and invocation by Rev. R. Sangyula Imchen, associate pastor (W), MPA.
