Aizawl FC defeat Nagaland United SC2-0 in football for peace exhibition match

DIMAPUR, JUN 6 (npn): Aizawl Football Club defeated Nagaland United Sports Club 2–0 in an exhibition football match organised under the theme “Match for Peace, Goal for Hope” at Chümoukedima Football Stadium on June 6.
According to DIPR, the exhibition match was organised by the Nagaland Super League (NSL) as part of an initiative to promote peace, unity and social responsibility through sports while supporting underprivileged children.
The event aimed to harness the power of football to inspire hope, encourage sportsmanship and strengthen bonds of friendship among communities. A large number of football enthusiasts, sports officials and members of the public attended the programme and witnessed the match.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio attended the event as the chief guest.
Several ministers, advisors and government officials were also present. Organisers stated that the programme highlighted the unifying power of sports and underscored the importance of collective efforts in creating opportunities for disadvantaged children. Held under the banner of the Nagaland Super League, the event carried the message “Peace Pays”, encouraging communities to work together towards a more inclusive and hopeful future.
Coca-Cola partnered the event as the beverage sponsor.
