Oppn INDIA bloc to meet today amid differences

NEW DELHI, JUN 7 (PTI): Leaders of 23 opposition parties of the INDIA bloc will meet in New Delhi on Monday to chalk out a strategy against the BJP and address emerging differences following recent assembly election setbacks for key regional allies.
Top leaders expected to attend include Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray.
The meeting comes amid changing political equations after recent assembly elections. The alliance is expected to discuss its future course, coordination on national issues and preparations for upcoming state elections and 2029 Lok Sabha polls.
Differences within the bloc are also likely to surface, with the CPI(M) expected to seek clarification from Congress over allegations relating to the Kerala Assembly polls.
The INDIA alliance was formed ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections to jointly challenge the BJP-led NDA at the national level.
