DIMAPUR: The monthly meeting of the District Planning & Development Board (DPDB), Tuensang, was held on June 8 at the DC’s Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, Deputy Commissioner and Vice chairman DPDB, Tuensang.
After reviewing the previous meeting minutes, the board recommended registration of the Leap of Faith Foundation and Mt. Sinai Development Society, Tuensang. The chairman also urged departments to segregate office waste and minimize use of plastics. H. Berimong, ADC, Tuensang, briefed members on the Solid Waste Management Rules 2026, highlighting segregation of household waste into wet, dry, sanitary and special care categories at source.
Er. Chingting, EE PHED, presented departmental activities under Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission through a PowerPoint presentation. SDPO, DEF Tuensang, Dr. Akash Sinha, delivered a detailed presentation on cyber safety and security, warning of rising cyber crimes in the district. He identified financial frauds such as Ponzi schemes, online exchanges, lottery scams, cryptocurrency fraud, hacking and digital arrest, as well as social media crimes including cyber bullying, defamation, impersonation, sexual harassment, fake news, circulation of obscene material, sextortion and cyber grooming.
The meeting also introduced new members: Saku Chingmak, SDO (C); Alem Yanger, DAO; and Lipichem, DPO Land Resource, Tuensang.
